Keyword rank checker from a real search source
Where any site sits for its keywords in a real results page, by country. Free, no account.
Where you sit, and who sits above you
A real results page
Each keyword is fetched from a real search results page for the country you pick, not from a cached index. Position is where your page appears, with the page named.
Who is above you
The sites ranking higher, which is two lists at once: the competitors you need to outrank and the roundups and guides that could list you.
Searches a month
The volume beside each keyword, so a position 4 for a keyword nobody types does not look like a win.
By country
Rankings differ by country. Pick the one your buyers are in; the product tracks several.
Which page ranks
The page that ranks is sometimes not the one you meant. The checker names it, so a guide ranking for a product keyword is visible.
Daily in the product
Rankings move. The agent checks the target keywords daily and reports the moves in the morning digest, not a number from last month.
Positions, in three bands
Top 10
On the first page. Moving from 7 to 3 is the work of better links and a tighter page, and it is where most of the clicks are.
11 to 100
Indexed and close. Usually a content gap or a links gap; the authority checker tells you which.
Not in 100
Either the page does not exist, or it is about something else. Write the page before you build links to it.
Why a position is not the story
The pages above you are prospects
A roundup ranking first for your keyword is not only a competitor; it is a page that lists vendors like you. The finder judges it.
Country changes everything
A position 3 in one country can be nowhere in another. Check where your buyers are.
Volume decides the value
Position 1 for a keyword with 30 searches is worth less than position 8 for one with 5,000. Both numbers sit side by side here.
What a first check usually shows
A few on page one
The pages with the most links and the clearest titles. Push these from 7 to 3 first; it is the cheapest traffic.
Most in 11 to 40
Indexed, close, stuck. A links gap or a thin page. The authority checker says which.
The big keyword not ranking
A keyword with tens of thousands of searches and no page for it. Write the page, then build to it.
The wrong page ranking
A blog post ranking for a product keyword. Add the product page to the post and link it; or merge.
Different countries, different pictures
Page one in one country, nowhere in another. Pick the market and track it.
Roundups above you
A list ranking first for your keyword is a page that could list you. It goes to the finder.
Owners who do their own SEO
Local service businesses
Near-me keywords by city. Track the city your buyers are in.
Software and agencies
Category keywords and best-of roundups. The roundups above you are prospects.
Online shops
Product and category keywords with volume beside position, so the work goes where the clicks are.
Three steps after the result
Pick five keywords
The ones with volume where you sit in 4 to 20. Those move with links.
Pitch the pages above you
The finder judges them and the agent drafts the ask.
Track daily in the product
Moves reported in the morning digest, so a drop is caught the day it happens.
Six words the result uses
Position
Where your page appears in the results for the keyword, counting organic results only, in the chosen country.
Search volume
Average monthly searches for the keyword in that country, from the keyword planner data the agent hunts with.
Ranking page
The page of yours that appears. Sometimes not the one you meant; the checker names it.
Above you
The sites in higher positions. Competitors to outrank, and roundups that could list you.
Country
Results differ by market. The checker uses a clean result for the country you pick, not your personalised view.
Daily tracking
In the product, each target keyword is checked every day and moves are reported in the morning digest.
Three ways to misread a position
Checking from your own browser
Your results are personalised by location and history. Use a clean check for the country.
Celebrating position one for nothing
A keyword with thirty searches a month brings thirty visits at most. Volume sits beside position for this reason.
Building links to a page that is not there
If a keyword has no page, write it first. Links to the home page for a product keyword do little.
Twelve keywords, three positions that mattered
The check
A consultancy tracked twelve keywords in one country. Three ranked in the top ten, four between eleven and thirty, five not in the top hundred. The checker named the ranking page for each, which showed the first problem: two of the top-ten keywords were ranking with the home page, not the service page written for them.
The pages
For the five with no position, four had no page at all. The site had been expecting the home page to rank for everything. Four pages were written, one per keyword, each answering the search in the first paragraph. The two home-page rankings were moved to their service pages with internal links and a clearer title.
The links
The agent found roundups and guides above the site for the top-thirty keywords and asked for additions, from the owner's inbox, each approved first. Seven links earned in eight weeks, every one to the page that needed it rather than to the home page.
The result
At twelve weeks: eight of twelve keywords in the top ten, the two moved keywords up from positions nine and seven to three and two, and the new pages ranking between four and fourteen. The morning digest showed each move the day it happened, with the page, the position and the link that preceded it.
What a position change usually means
Up three or more
Usually a link landed or a page was improved. The digest shows which, because the agent logs every link beside the date.
Down three or more
Often a competitor published something better, or a link was lost. Check the lost-links row in the backlink checker first.
Swapping pages
When a different page of yours starts ranking, two pages compete. Merge them or give each its own keyword.
Different by country
A keyword can be position three in one market and absent in another. The checker tracks each country you pick on its own.
What the paid agent adds to the free check
Daily positions
Every target keyword checked each morning in each country you track, with moves and their likely cause in the digest.
Pages you are missing
Keywords with no ranking page are listed with a brief for the page to write, in the order of search volume.
Links tied to moves
Every earned link is logged beside the date, so when a keyword moves the digest names the link that preceded it.
