No. Links come from editors saying yes to a pitch sent from your own inbox. First links usually land in weeks three to six.
Are the backlinks free?+
Yes by default. Your agent asks for free additions: resource pages, roundups that list your category, sites that already mention you, forums where your buyers ask. If a site names a price, the reply is labelled Commercial terms and the suggested answer declines it. Expect fewer links than a paid service, and better ones.
